Q Do you do piano removals?
The answer is ABSOLUTELY YES! We have moved at least 100+ upright pianos to date and possess all of the correct equipment and know-how to make your upright piano move painless
Q What size of van will I get?
FMAV will provide a new and clean Luton box van on move day unless you have a very small requirement and a standard sized Transit will suffice – our vans are all less than 18 months old for your peace of mind and incredibly well maintained We can effectively pack a standard sized 2 bed house in its entirety into our large vans
Q Can I move at the weekend?
Yes – we are open 6 days a week and will only be closed on Sundays Our opening hours are generally from 0800am – 1800pm however we can make allowances should you require us outwith these operating times
Q How long will my move take?
It is impossible to give an exact job duration as there as so many variables surrounding a house move however, provided there are not long delays waiting on solicitors and key releases, and if access is relatively straightforward most moves take 2-4 hours end to end
Q How many men will do my removal?
Depending on your requirements we ordinarily supply the large Luton van and professional two man team unless you specify more manpower / vehicles for your move. We have capacity to provide up to two large Luton vans and a team of four experienced and professional movers (please see our pricing for further details)
Q Are removal boxes and packing materials provided for my move?
Unfortunately we do not supply any packing materials for your move – however we would be delighted to signpost you to a local supplier of these items as required We will however provide the very best protectors for your valuables such as TV, mattresses and sofas and all furniture will be wrapped in removals blankets too during transit between properties / storage
Q Can you provide storage solutions?
FMAV do not offer storage facilities – but we do have an extremely good relationship with all local storage providers such as FIFE GROUP and FRUIX of Kinross and regularly visit storage sites on a weekly basis
Q How do I pay for my move?
We accept payment in cash following the completion of your house removal / single item move If invoicing and a BACs payment is required for a business or organisation we are happy to arrange this however this must be agreed prior to the booking of your move We cannot accept cheque payments unfortunately All of our prices on this website are inclusive of VAT
Q Are my goods insured?
Yes indeed – FMAV have both goods in transit (GIT) insurance and public liability cover too
Q How much notice do you require?
If you are planning to book a full or part house move it is always advisable to book between 2-4 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment – we would suggest booking 4 weeks in advance however we can sometimes be available at short notice to assist with your move If a single item requires moving, we can be pretty flexible with ad-hoc single item moves and can usually accommodate these sorts of jobs at very short notice, even same day in some cases
Q Do you dismantle and reassemble my furniture?
This is a service we can offer as all of the vans are equipped with tools etc, however we would also try to explain to a customer that they are paying for us by the hour…so the more prepared they can be, the quicker and cheaper we can have them moved
Q Can you take items to the local tip / recycling centre?
Unfortunately we are unable to access the local tips with your unwanted furniture and so on. To access the local recycling centres you are required to have an annual pass and hold a waste carriers licence too
